CabochonThis class teaches how to use the shop trim saws and cabbing equipment.  Required class before you attend Open Workshops to work on your own.



Instructor:  Anne Bair

Sessions:  Two 3.5-hour sessions

Cost:  $15 for both classes payble by check or cash.  Instructor's time is donated.

Class size:  Two (2) persons maximum.

Learn how to use the trim saws, flat-laps, Genie and polishing wheel to create two (2) flat-backed domed stones called cabochons used for making jewelry. Shop safety is discussed.  Classes are scheduled upon request according to your schedule and workshop availability.

Note:  a free form cabochon class can be scheduled for those who are interested.  Standard workshop rates apply.

All workshop classes are "Introductory" classes that allow members to try their hand at a particular lapidary or jewelry-making skill.  Preference is given to members who have not taken the class before.  Student's who wish to retake a class will be considered only after all first-time students are accommodated.  All returning students require prior approval from the instructor.  Once you find a lapidary or jewelry-making skill that you enjoy we encourage you to take classes from local artists, William Holland School of Lapidary Arts and/or Wildacres to further your skills.
