Classes
Classes at the CobbleShop
The CCGMS CobbleShop’s motto is “Each one Teach One” and reflects CCGMS’ commitment to sharing our talents with one other.
The workshop is available to members in good standing. Most instructors are hobbyists who volunteer their time. The workshop instructors will collect an hourly fee that goes toward machinery maintenance and utilities. Supply fees are the student’s responsibility and vary per class.
First Tuesday Free Class
Monthly class held the first Tuesday of each month from 7:00-9:00 pm in the Workshop at the ARC. http://www.artisanresourcecenter.net/artisanresourcecenterdirections.html Room “M”. Open to members in good standing, instruction is free and shop usage is free for this monthly class. Please check this page each month for the project and supply list. Students bring their own tools and supplies. Check with the class instructor as to whether there is a project supply kit available for a fee.
*Open WorkShop Hours
(see Calendar for schedule)
Once you complete the two required classes in Cabbing, you can work on your own during open Workshop hours. The nightly workshop foreman will collect fees based on the amount of time you spend on the machinery. Workshop hours for Tuesday and Thursday nights are posted on the website calendar. Also, check the announcement section for upcoming events. Please arrive within the first 30 minutes as a foreman may leave at 7:30 pm if no one shows.
Daytime open workshop hours are now available on an appointment basis. Call Ruth Rainey at 770-565-0206 or email BeadersWire at Gmail.com to schedule afternoon workshop hours. Please call a few days in advance in order to schedule around other classes at the workshop.
* Open workshop is for cutting and cabbing and anything else that you may want to do if you can hear above the noise of the machines.
